soupsdonewright asked:

I bought a brand new battery, but even before that I had power inside the van (lights, radio, fan, etc..), but it won’t start. I know that there is a security system, but since we owned the van we have never had the remote or used the security system. Any ideas on how to either disable the security system or what the problem might be?

Thanks!

Look for the manual and what usually the fuel pump valve shuts off automatically you have to reset the button. It will also do this if you were hit from behind.

If your battery was replaced, then it could only be two things: your starter or your alarm. If it is a factory security system, you can remove the fuse fromt he fuse panel (under the dash-driver’s side). That should correct your problem. If it’s an aftermarket alarm, usually there’s a kill switch underneath the dash that can be flicked on or off. If no kill switch, take it to a shop and have them disconnect it. If the problem is your starter, just get it replaced.

There should be a pats system on that car from the factory. Generally if there is a problem with it when you turn the key to start it. The security light on the dash will keep flashing. If the light goes on when you insert the key but then shuts off and stays off then it’s operating correctly.
