Just purchased a home and am interested in installing a home security system. Since there are so many companies out there, I was looking for other’s personal experiences with home security companies. Good and bad? Also something that won’t break the bank!! Thanks everyone!

I can understand your concern for budget, however be careful in what you choose. Many companies will offer you “free” alarm systems. Typically these are wireless and will end up costing you more in the long run. Even if they are hardwired, the “free” systems are below basic and do not offer sufficient protection for larger homes.

You are not in my service area, but feel free to check out my website at. I try to keep the content as informative as possible without all the sales hype. The archive has an article on the problems you will run into with wireless systems. Other articles of interest, in your case, may be Protection 101 and False alarm info.

Good luck

I agree with keep safe free alarms are just nothing but problems. I was thinking about getting one until I read some articles on the keep safe webpage.

with companies to use according to avoid the big names like adt brinks protection 1 alarmforce and definately stay away from wireless.
